My sister is in need of a car, any help?

Right here goes, when my sister gets her compo from a car crash that happened at the start of the year, shes lookin to replace her, dare i say it, micra.

my sister is after a:

4/5 door car,

Fairly cheap on insurance,

Possibly diesel, (doesn`t have to be)
cheap to run,

oh she has a, or rather she will have around a grand to spend so, possibly something good really

any suggestions, nothing daft tho please.

why not get a ford escort? plenty about so cheap as chips parts. might not look any good but if im being honest a pretty reliable and easy to drive car.
opt for a ghia or ghia x version and you get all you need, abs,a/c,r/c/l,leather heated seats/airbags,pas,full elecs etc.....
i know it got poked with the ugly stick but hey eveyone has or has had one so they cant be that bad can they. some fine,low milage examples around to.

mondeos and vectra would be too big for her really mate, and besides she wouldn`t like the mondeo, i had one and it was`nt all that great tbh
