how did you convert the box to cable is fitting the 1.4 16v same as fitting the 1.2 16v just use the mk1 1.2 16v inlet manifold ect

just fitted a new drivers side door and flushed the lock also flushed the boot.
i did not weld plates on the inside in the end i bonded them in because knowing my look i would get some major destortion and end up having to filler harf the pannel haha. :D

Exactly that - you put the ECU circuits together by hand, although you can buy them fully built. There's a sticky thread on Megasquirt which should have everything you need to know.

to be honist im not up on ecus at all can i not just get the normal one remapped as i have no idea how to build a ecu or fit one and looking at the megasquirt section just makes it harder

The standard one cannot be remapped for your application, no.

If you don't want to to the job yourself then you'll need find a fitting centre for the brand you prefer and have them fit it.

Beware, you will be looking at the thick end of £1500, supplied fitted and mapped.

Cheers

read the thread in the sticky

read http://www.megamanual.com/index.html

read the links here http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/

If you don't understand, can't be bothered or don't want to put time and effort it, then it's definatly not for you! I sing MS's praise, but that's becuase i'm interested in it, and it's cheap. If you just want plug and play, it's not for you.....you'll need to save for something else.

Cheers,

Kristian

hi there my engine is being rebuilt at the moment ive told him to take out the decomp plate and just build it as a standerd engine.
i would just like to no because it is a mk1 engine i will have to drill a hole for the knock sensor ive been told there is a spare hole from the punto engine mount do i drill all the way through and tap it out ?

hi there just to let you no i have everything i need now so i am going to be putting the 1.2 16v in this weekend the only thing i have not got is the aultinator will the sei one fit on the punto mount why do people have trouble lining it up if you use the genuine mount and aultinator off the punto???

map ecu for n/a, map 2 if you choose to turbo it. i personally wouldnt buy anyother after installing these and mapping them on many performance vehicles.

Cheers, Josh

i removed the old engine yesterday and fitted the new one today there are 2 plugs off the old tb that are not used on the 16v is this correct also because it is a mk1 16v engine there is no cam sensor will this be ok?

just to let you all no i got the sei up and running with the 16v engine.
now i have removed the engine and it is mounted it the back thought id do somthing different.
