Panda (Classic) My Panda CLX

Introduction

Hi All

I am new to the forum and the Fiat Panda scene. I have just purchased a 1993 Panda 1000 CLX she has 75000 on the clock. She is in need of some TLC as she has been sitting in a workshop for the passed 7 months unused and neglected.

At a quick glance she needs a new exhaust manifold to head gasket, two new tyres and possibly a set of new front brake pads for the MOT.

She has a few bits of trim missing, both doors at the bottom rear corner have rust scabs and a couple of small dents to sort. I will add some photo's of her shortly.

Mark

Here's some photo's

Hi All

Called in and met Vernon yesterday (its nice to put a face to a name). I collected replacement bonnet, front panel and steering wheel for Holly Bonnet now fitted to save getting damaged. I also called into Purple haze with Holly (Her first longer trip)and collected an O.S. Door for her to day.

:yeahthat:

Always get a price from main dealer I find :)

I am so jealous of people who can walk into the main dealer to get parts, I was told last time at my main dealer that they didnt have any old stock at all, and basically they wouldnt order anything in for me.

I fantasise about dealerships sitting with hundreds of BNOS doors, panels windows etc just sitting there waiting for someone to come in and take them off their hands for a token sum :)

I think it must be down to how helpful they are feeling. My main dealer that I use in Knaresbrough is fantastic, they always bend over backwards to help, but the one which is closer to me in Ripon are useless.

The Fiat garage in Knaresbrough actually has a proper tidy Panda in one of the stores, it got traded in a couple of years ago for a brand new one and they have kept it. I keep trying to get pictures of it but it's always parked in by written off cars.

I find if you do the hard work for them and get the part number of Eper beforehand they are alot more helpful at my local dealer (when someone finally comes to help you!). I bought an aerial a few years ago, was told they were not available when I just asked for one, went back with the part number and they could order one no problem:rolleyes:

Alot of Panda stuff is no longer available, especially anything specific to early or RHD cars, and most bits do have to come from Italy, but I've never had any trouble with them ordering me parts in, infact I have some trim parts coming from Italy this week(y)
