Got it all in...

Now running a pair of Fusion FSC-4 components in the dash with the tweeters mounted up on top of the dash, reflecting off the windscreen. These are powered by an SPLX amp (;) dont laugh!). These are high passed at 150hz.

A Pioneer TSW-305C 12" sub powered by a JBL GTO2000 in the boot low passed at 145hz.

The amps are on an MDF floor along with all the cabling, dizzy blocks etc... all covered over with a false floor and the sub box on top. The sub is in a 1cuft sealed box. Its all carpeted in black carpet with a lovely blue neon.

The SPLX amp really isnt as bad as I thought it would be, I';ve had it sat in my bedroom for about a month waiting to go in, all this time I've been thinking... "I should have saved up and bought a decent amp" but it has surprised me, I tried setting the gains when it was all in and was far too loud at the highest possible, I have it about 10% up at the moment, I'll be trying to set it up again in a couple of weeks when the speakers have been run in.

any pics of your install sando, especiall the neons...

ive just ordered a new printer and thought i'd get 2 x 12" blue neons for the car at the same time. just wanted some ideas about positioning etc

I had the SPLx 1000 watter once and was not impressed. I had it for about a month b4 taking it back. It kept overheating after about 20 mins and cutting out. I replaced it with ths XS 900 watt 4 channel amp which cost an extra £20. This amp has done me proud for nearly a year. Very nice amp that runs at 110watts rms per channel for £140!!!

They are simply cheap and cheerful. Some will fit your system perfectly, others will die a sad death! Just depends what your set-up needs.

Hows about a pic Sando :)

Another day...another problem...

SPLX gear is surprisingly good. For the price of my single Pioneer 12" sub and Sony amp setup, I could have got a pair of the hefty silver 12" SPLX subs and a monster amp (think it was the 1000W one). A mate of mine put that system in his (spit) 306 and it was ridiculously loud. Not quite up to my system in terms of sound quality or bass tightness but it didn't half rattle the windows :D

I'll get some pics up asap, my mates lending me his digital camera.

SPLX stuff is ok I suppose, it fills a gap for £35 so I cant argue. Because its so cheap I think the quality cobtrol probably suffers, whereas an amp like a Pioneer (or any other big manufacturars) will be thoroughly tested, SPLX will not be as tested so I think a few dud ones will slip through.

Mines OK, the sound is fairly clean and well cut, a 100% improvement over the HU anyway.
