General My new Punto Evo Sporting

Hello everyone! today I've moved from my MK2B punto active to a Punto Evo sporting , I'm very happy with the purchase, great looking car (been getting the odd person eyeing it up), very nippy and most of all drives a hell of a lot smoother than the MK2B. It came with plenty of extras; Leather upholstery, Chrome wing mirrors, Punto side sills, rear parking sensors, start/stop, 17" Alloys, red brake calipers.

I was curious if it could of been a previous fiat forum members? I've bought it in the Stoke-on-Trent area and of course the sporting is such a rarity!

Right so hopefully soon I'll get a few more photos of my lovely new car

Here is a list of things I've currently done to it:

* Added a sporting badge (although i'm undecided on if I like it or not)
* Swapped the aerial for a stubby one
* Done some T-Cutting around the door sills, back bumper, front bumper and door handles (there was an awful lot of scratches on the drivers side door sill and I mean alot)
* Heko wind deflectors on order

Here is a list of what I would like to do in the future:

* Raggazon cat-back exhaust system (Centre silencer removed)
* BMC Panel Filter
* Osram Nightbreakers
* Abarth aluminium petrol cap
* Alloy wheels to be refurbished (a few scuffs from previous owner, nothing major)
* Stage 1 remap
* Considering brembo brakes, but unsure if the cost is really worth it?

Looks lovely! I'm not into modifying so might be a bit one-sided on this but I personally think you'll reduce it's saleability in future if you do too much to it. The Evo Sporting is so rare that just having a mint one in a couple of years could allow you to get a bit more back come sale time. Personally if I saw someone say it'd been remapped etc, I'd run for the hills. Particularly because the MultiAir engines seem to run into MultiAir unit failure problems, costing about £1000 to put right, even as standard - I do wonder if something like a remap might accelerate the problem

It does look like a lovely car though, and I would imagine after a 1.2 Mk2B, it'll feel like lightening even as standard!

In all fairness I am having second thoughts on the remap, filter and stainless exhaust definitely though! Have the filter and it makes a nice slight difference in terms of selling I doubt I'll be getting rid for a long time, it's definitely faster than the 1.2, I remember test driving this then getting back in my old car and thinking God this thing is slow...

Where did you get the chrome mirrors?

The wing mirrors were on when I'd bought it, I believe it was an option when buying new, probably can buy them from any fiat dealer.

Right then small update although not huge but a couple of things! I've had my Ragazzon cat back exhaust system! a straight through centre pipe (which is surprisingly quiet sitting idle) into a staggered twin tip back box, both sized at 60mm, hoping to withing the next couple of months have the 60mm flexipipe as well to improve the sound further! this is what the exhaust looks and sounds like, you'll notice in the clip the revving down sound abit odd yet in person I've not heard this unusual sound (had a friend drive it round so I could see what it sounded like going by)





I also now have some Osram Night breaker unlimited for my main beam, Osram cool blues for my side lights and MTEC super whites for my DRLS (although one has blown already, replaced and sorted though no problems since) here is an image of those in action.

So since my last post I've not done a huge deal, but I know have a ragazzon 60mm oversized front pipe fitted which improved the sound massively) and a forge dump valve adaptor plate which sounds great! Catches a lot of people by surprised.
