Hi all!

I'm super excited to introduce my new project!! My '94 Panda CLX! But it's not just any old Panda CLX... It's got a Punto 1.2 16v 86hp engine in it! What a car!

Obviously being 21 years old it's got some problems...

It has about 5 keys ? so it needs a full lock set. A few bulbs are out, so they need sorting. It doesn't have an MOT, so I'm just hoping it sails through! I'm currently in the process of putting a Mk1 Punto 16v exhaust on it and I'm just worried that I won't manage to get it to fit... (Anyone with any experience with this please help!). It seems to be idling a bit fast, so I'm gunna give it a full and thorough service when I pick it up and then there's a few cosmetic things to do like the hubcaps needing a refurb!

Overall, I'm chuffed to bits with it! It's completely clean underneath with no bad rust. It's had a new boot floor and floor pans, and been undersealed all over. So it's set for winter....

Hope you guys like it!

Rhys

The only reason I didn't buy that car myself is it still says 999cc on the log book. Update the DVLA 1242cc and new engine number as soon as possible and make sure you do it before you M.O.T the car and declare everything when you take out insurance.

If you insure the car as a bog standard 999cc FIRE powered Panda you will not be insured.

Depending on where you go for the M.O.T the car could fail...

...if they do a specific cat' test for the original engine.

nice nice.. yeah the 999cc registration thing put me off.. not that it is hard to change. hell i have done it on one of mine without issues. i also do not have any more room for another car here.

my project fallout panda has a MPI 1.2L 8 valve punto 75 engine in it. im not expecting it to be a race car, it was more of a requirement for added weight... and the fact that it is a tad more water proof than the 999cc engine with distributor.
though it does need new HT leads as when you touch them when its running you get some good belts from it.. nothing wrong with those coil packs i tell you.

Great little car... the best looking Panda spec with those gorgeous wheeltrims and door trims but without the roofbars and awful interior that some of the later Pandas had.

Keep it stock and stealth! (apart from a Fiat bonnet scoop if you can find one). Wider tyres would only make it tip over more... then you'd have to lower the suspension, etc. etc. :)
