I picked it up last night it did used to be mine but i sold it in may this year, it was going to be scrapped by the owner so i got it dirt cheap as it needs a bit of work doing to it but i know what the car is like as i used to own it earlier on this year, basically what happened was the waterpump gave up and it overheated blowing the headgasket, it still runs but myself and a friend are going to take the head off and change the gasket along with the waterpump and cambelt, give it a full service and change the header tank which has split,

I'm going to treat some of the cosmetic rust on the outside to make it look a bit better and underseal all of the underneath and the wheel arches, a place is going to do a bit of welding to the rear suspension turrents and hopefully all should go well and it will be back on the road before christmas.

Nice looking car! I remember going for a quick ride in it at the ACE Cafe earlier this year (or was it last year? )

Thing is, how come everyone else finds UT's going cheap but I don't?

Yeah saw that one on e bay i was bidding for a while, then u said u bought it lol.... no springs hey.... bet thats a boaty drive.
If ur wheels are 15" how much can you lower it untill the wheels rub cus im gettin some 15's but im not sure how much i can lower it....

The wheels at the back turn round and dont rub with no springs so you can pretty much lower it as much as you want, The arches are had work done to them to achieve this, the main thing is you will need wheel spacers on the front and rear, the passenger side wheel hits the gearbox without a spacer and the wheels wont go on the rear without a spacer as they will hit the rear beam.

the uno is much faster now than it was 1986Uno45S as it has some errors corrected with it, i paid £300 quid for it in the end, wouldnt have paid much more for it tbh and i doubt i would have bought it if i didnt have already owned it.

and rob its not boat like at all, its solid at the back and is very bumpy to drive, dangerous IMO thats why the springs are going back in the rears however with a coil or two cut off.

Car looks good, was that the one which had 18 previous owners and blown headgasket?

No springs sounds like a death trap!!!!

the amount of previous owners means nothing to me, myself, bushboy and two people i know make up four of the previous owners.

if you read my first post it explains about the headgasket, I put the wheels back on the redun bush cause the standard wheels are so rank its unreal and it makes the car look a hundred times better plus the tyres on the standard wheels are really really crap and the superleggera's now have a set of brand new toyo proxy tr-1's so i dont think it will be spinning in 4th now :)

I've usually bought new cars so more than 2-3 owners seems quite alot, as you say you're happy so that's good.

Must have missed that bit :)

Cool.

So I guess there's no hope if you want a UT to seriously be that low, however on the std wheels, I have a picture of it, and it looks like the jacking strip under the car would be nearly grounding out on that kerb it's parked on.

Could you even get the jack underneath it?

Oh hey, sorry to dual post but could ya take a picture of the sides of the car, dead on side?

Want to see where the wheels line up the wheel arches. Need it soonish please as I'm cutting back my arches (my wheels have a bigger offset).

charrs.
