Ok so about 6000 miles ago when i did my engine conversion i realised that my engine mounts were pretty much dead but never got around to doing them...

so i bought new mounts and tigersealed them up and what a difference! nice and responsive engine with instant power... more vibration in the car though... just letting eveeryone know that tigerseal definatly works on engine mounts and stops all the rocking!! almost completely.

and just because check out how f***** the old mounts were...

Tigerseal is excellent for this as it's a polyurethane adhesive so stick to the rubber bush & sets hard but not quiet as hard as a proper poly bush.

Our track cinq hasxhad all three mounts done & work brilliant as even on rolling road where engine movement can be seen at the extreme the improvement is marked.

I've also done the rear exhaust mounts on Clio 172/182 as these collapse over time with the weight and exhausts can bang about, plus are nearly £30 to replace, the tigersealed mounts are better than new holding exhausts especially on twin exit 182s perfectly in middle of the bumper cut outs.

get all your mates around and do their mounts at the same time... be even cheaper then.but the main reason is that once opened the stuff will be a block of rubber by the time you need it next :)

I'll done 2 set of mounts already with it ... stil got like 1/4 of a tube left :p..

Yeah get what you saying, the tip is pretty much blocked so at the mo just using it without the tip.

And shame don't have anyone that drives a cento around me that are willing to do anything to their cars but sound systems ..... and rallycinq already done everythin i believe :p

tbh i never used tigerseal either. i used naftoseal. its a trade equivilant from germany. its pretty much liquid polyurothene and sets in 24 hours. from what i can see its exactly the same as my freinds tigersealed mounts only brown in color....

and ive only done the two because i cant find a drivers side engine mount and refuse to pay the price for a new one like i did with the others.. (£80). so ill be getting one soon i hope. but it has stopped almost all the movement now... and rattles alittle bit..

(naftoseal was free from my father and this is its description)

Product Name: NAFTOSEAL® MC-238 A-1/2
Category: Sealants
Short Description: Fuel Tank Sealant / Fuselage Sealant
Long Description: NAFTOSEAL MC-238 Class A is a two-component, manganese-dioxide cured, liquid polysulphide polymer system providing excellent fuel tank and fuselage seals. It has outstanding resistance to aviation gasoline and jet fuel, as well as resistance to chemicals and petroleum products common to the aircraft industry.

(so should do the job i think! :p:p and i like the fact that its resistant to petroleum products so oil isnt a problem.)

I have used genuine silkaflex on my mounts. I also used a normal caulking gun but as said it is very hard to squeeze out, but still doable. Dries very quickly too. Only used this as found a place on ebay that had a few ever so slightly dented ones for about £1.50 each. So obviously bought a load. Works brilliantly holding the mesh on bumpers too. Dan

The vibrations from my poly engine mount inserts is crazy, you can feel the whole car vibrate around you, it is like being in a rally or race car (y).

I did use a light coating of tigerseal in my rear gearbox mount and an even thinner amount in the right hand mount. Left mount has been crammed full of the stuff and left for a week to set (was off the car at the time anyway).

Thanks
