Punto (Mk2/2b) My mk2 Punto Sporting 1.2 16v

Introduction

Hi, I've been reading the forum for a while now and I've just about got my Punto how I like it (I've had it over seven years now, lol) so I though I'd post a pic for your consideration.

It's been lowered 35mm, colour coded door handles and mirrors, and those rubbing strips taken off the doors. Also it has smoked side repeaters and smoked rear lights. The boot has been debadged.

There are some Abarth bits inside and a modest JBL sound system with two amps in the boot.

I did have plans to have some FK or Cobra coilovers fitted but I'm going to sell it in a few weeks due to a new job, so it doesn't seem worth it now :(

HI, thanks everybody for posting so far, and the comments.

I did colour code the door handles and mirrors myself, I bought new handles and second-hand mirrors, and painted them off the car so that I could take my time and get the finish spot-on. The end result was worth it, I think they are comparable with a professional job.

I got the paint from a place in St.Helens over the internet - you send them your paint code and they make up an aerosol for about £10. I ordered two aerosols but only ended up using one!

Lowering the car did make a difference to the ride, it's harsher but I like it like that, my last car had full Konis all round and drove like a trolley jack, my Punto is still luxury in comparison! It does handle much better though, it feels sharper going into corners.

Like I say, I'd love to get it dropped right down, perhaps around 60-70mm, but I will shortly live 10 mins walk away from where I work - and in this day and age, if you can live with out running a car then you could save a lot of money! So I will be selling it

At least my girlfriend has a Seicento Sporting, I'll probably end up modifying that, I don't think she'll need much encouraging because she likes the things I've done to my Punto!
