they are ordered haha i have no clue about wiring though. am i aloud to have them on while driving?

I wouldn't like to say yes you are but on my setup they always on, but make sure no other driver can see them. But doesnt mean its legal but id install a switch to turn them off if mr plod comes to window...which I need to do at some point :p

Just follow that guide and you'll be well on your way :)

Thanks a lot they are due to arrive at the weekend so i will get my interior light in on thursday and then those over the weekend get a good polish and let you guys see :D Thanks benny for your help

Quite easy my friend here's a piccie of mine:

There's a few ways of doing this:

  • Wire to interior light
  • Wire to ignition so they come on when car is turned on
  • etc

Then, you have an option to wire them to a switch so you can turn t hem on and off at your choice :)

If you wanna wire to interior light here's a guide for it:

https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-guides/268208-iterior-foot-well-lighting-interior-light.html

The list above there is SO many more ways of doing it but no point in listing them :)

Benny

Any advice on wiring them to the interior light so they come on when the doors open but also with a switch so i can have them on even when the interior light isnt on ?

just got my leds through did you use an inline fuse all i have is 2 led strips and 2 sets of wires coming from them?

It always best to fuse your own circuit wherever that's wiring footwell led's or wiring in a subwoofer, that fuse is there to protect your electrical system in the car, if it shorts the fuse blows and no power gets to item like subwoofer, put a new fuse in, you have power, its same aspect with car fuses (if you've had to deal with any blown fuses).

You can buy a cheap inline fuse holder from Maplins (if you have one nearby) which I do luckily enough like 5 minutes from my house, I think they go for like £3-4, if unsure how to wire a inline fuse ask one of the staff there, they usually quite helpful :)

This way if you're led's stop working, you'll know the fuse has blown instead of hunting throughout the dozen of fuses in the car (cabin fusebox).

Hope this helps :)

nope never heard of that place im sure i can get them easy enough though. As you bought the same LEDs did you buy extra wire for them as the wire isnt very long and how did you wire in a fuse im really new to all this stuff (n)

Ok so small update cleaned everything under the bonnet and covered it in anti rust should be good for a while now :) looks a lot better, painted my bonnet hold red dont know the correct name for it but the pole that holds it up haha. Put my bright white led side lights in and they looks great will get a picture up when its dark just a few more things to do this weekend :D

ignore the reddy orange dirty air filter cover haha was just testing paint cause i had never used spray paint before (y) but here it is under the bonet all cleaned it was a dirty grey colour now its all black :p and you can actually see what colour the tubes are instead of every tube being grey haha. My head unit there also because i havent uploaded one yet and also just the car after a clean. The light isnt great for the leds but i will get another one at night (y) Got my front half of my exhaust fixed as there was a large crack the whole way up so theres a picture of the manifold there aswell :yum:

Re: My Punto

ok had coolant spraying out the bottle earlier think it was just cause the cap wasnt tightened fully (hope so) getting serviced tomorrow and will find out. The fan is going a bit mental aswell to try and keep the radiator cool anyone know reasons for this?

Maybe the cap is duff and needs replacing, replace it with a new one or from a scrapped Punto, this may solve it as remember these units are pressurized and the seal on the cap may of broke if it has then when coolant is under pressure it will flow right to the top and leak out like a pig being sick.

For the fan, unplug it and check the connector for any corrosion, the plug itself is located behind right below, you cant miss it :)

If the plug is fine then I'd suspect a knackered fan and would require replacing, it's easy to replace these, is the fan coming on at standstill? like at intervals? if it is then this is completely normal for a MK2 as most call it the traditional MK2 noise:D

If I'm at standstill mine will come on and off and on and off, nothing abnormal about that it's just how the MK2 keeps itself cool :)

Hope this helps

i just tightened the cap and it seems to be fine. The fan goes usually after a drive when i park up never noticed it at traffic lights probably because i have the radio on so maybe everything is all good

Well in that case you shoul;d be fine :)

But if fan just keeps coming on or staying on for no reason it's bad earth somewhere or the fan is knackered, apart from the selected intervals the fan comes on and off as the traditional mk2 noise(y)
