General My Marea passed MOT

It passed with flying colours, and that's with a de-cat pipe.
Ok it had 4 goes on the gas analyser but it passed, surely it should have failed with no cat on the emmissions or is a cat just a big con trick??

i think it depends on the garage, and if it looks like it has a Cat or a straight pipe.

you got lucky with getting it though without one though, well done!

It's just a small diameter round silencer, but it's got powerflow written all over it, they knew it was a de-cat pipe.
However I now remember being spot checked by VOSA at the roadside about 4 years ago and they put it on a gas analyser and passed back then.
Ok they didn't look under the car at the time but it did pass and they mentioned a rip in the tyre sidewall.
