My knob has come off :(

It's the power/volume knob for the radio. Having a look at the back of the knob bit shows that it's a thin (not very robust) plastic collar holding it on to the actual (metal) control part on the radio.
Typical, you have a reasonably high-milage budget car built by those shoddy, workshy Italians, which is very reliable, but it's the radio built by the industrious, quality-obsessed Germans which falls apart! :p

Anyone got a spare knob? It's the later version, with the ridges (I know that jai only has a small, smooth knob, and he has difficulty handling it. He said he prefers mine )

Sig anyone?? :p

Has the collar actually broken, or would a dab of superglue fix it back on?

italians don't make the car - Poles do.

If you're having trouble operating your knob drop me a line :D

Lmao at this thread!

Hope your knob gets better soon ;)

The collar is actually broken. :(
The metal bit it fits on to is ribbed, and quite stiff. I'm not sure whether if I stuck it on with blu tack, it would hold. If I'm giving it some hand action, I want it to work properly. I don't really want to be giving it a twist, and finding it unresponsive, or coming off again.
As for superglue, I'm not a fan, I don't like getting it sticky then finding you can't have it off ever again.

My knob came off in my hand about 3 months ago too, funnily enough. When I showed the dealer on trade in he said he'd seen a lot of them like that and not to worry about it.

Seems the plastic is not up to the job and gluing it back will just make a mess. I can't imagine a replacement would cost much though, try Blaupunkt customer service

time to use my voucher.....
