my engine sqeaks bad

have recently had new cam kit put into car by mechanic
of mass destruction who clearly has not done it correctly, there is a terrible sqeak coming from the engine initially thought it was belts so got it checked out by a pal who is not destructive and told me the engine was not getting oil but levels are ok. have looked up possible problems and have found out the pipe that feeds the top of the engine can get blocked if incorrect oil used i need to know which ppipes i need to check. plz help me thankyou peeps.

Oh ok corse lol, eerm well it is a 96 p reg brava 1.4 12v and i don't know exactly what the guy did as i bought it from him refurbished after the same problem happened previousley as far as i can gather hence the new cam kit. the sqeak sound like it is coming from the left hand side of the blocky thingy that says fiat 12 valve. the big bit of metal in the middle as my son says. mileage is 59000

Was told about this problem by an AA mechanic and advised to get it checked. Apparently the pipe they refer to is a brass one that feeds oil from the bottom of the engine to the top.

As far as i am aware its nothing to do with the type of oil used, apparently early 1.4 brava were known for this problem and there was apparently a recall at some level to change the offending pipes just in case.

I had my local mechanic check it and he said mine was fine, i dont think its a big job as i think he only had to remove the rocker cover to check it and only charged me £15 for labour.

It is easy, really easy, do it yourself if you have time and yes they are a pain, mine was buggered also
