HI

thanks!!

i don´t no, i was never on a dyno.
Maybe this summer...but i think he is a little bit faster than a standart Novitec-Turbo:D

an 1242ccm MPI is in building.

:worship: the world needs more cars like this one..

Got anymore pics pf your engine, perhaps without front bumper on, not really seen the novitec kit before, only Van Aaken ones like mine and all the other turbo cento's on here that i've seen.

thanks all.

Yes i take more pics;)
first times a picture from MERKUR/NOVITEC
The Intercooler is from Punto GT
The Watercooler changes the site, it is left.

the earlier kit have a second ECU, similarly the VanAarken-Kit.
The Last Kits not have a second ECU, but the stock ECU got an Map-Sensor.....this kits were to drive better. At the changing from off-boost to boost are smoother. But this Kit is without a second Injektor.
I thing 120HP is the upper border, than its going lean.

i think the best economical (money)variant is the MPi-75. In Germany we has the Firm: G-TECH Engineering GmbH in 87778 Stetten.
He take an MAP-Sensor into the ECU und setting the ECU on the Dyno.

Before G-TECH, the Man was Engineur from Novitec;)

Ah but it is shorther :p and WAY shorter than my old boost pipes!! If you look at it the boosted air is coming out the top of turbo and across, if you look at the VAD kit as i'm sure you know, it comes out the bottom in most cases, across to bottom of IC then up to TB. On my old cinq it was like that pic above but the boost pipe went right onto top of IC and then out bottom and round a mad crazy route back up to TB..

Dont seem all that much shorter :p

Though im interested to know what they do with the waterpipe off the water pump as this was a huge problem for me for a long time heh :p

Hello

The Waterpipe ist stock/original.....there is enough area.
Maybe i found a pic at my Laptop;)

Yes, the pipes from Vanaaken + Hörmann looks so small.

Edit:
here a pic, can see the pipe behind the Turbo.

i have a question:

how do VanAaken reduce the CR? only skimming the pistons?
because i read, that some Turbo have problems with knocking.

Ah but yours was the exception rather than the rule :p

Hi Roland,

Looks interesting how it works, my water pipe was blocked by the turbo so needed a extention to the pipe which was a a pain as it kept breaking

edit: also it seems your turbo is lower down than the van aaken turbo's were :)

the VanAaken high boost turbo's were skimmed pistons (flat not dished also) but these have shown to be unreliable. My old Turbo is still running with one of the other guys on the forum as far as i'm aware and that has a decompression plate

The cheapest compromise is to use punto 1.2 16v pistons as these give you a CR of around 8:1 - think there are more details about this elsewhere on the forum though.

Cheers,
Alex

Hello

yes, the Turbo is lower....Novitec use the stoke manifold and between the Turbo an manifold a 90°-elbow with a T25 flange.

Novitec skimmed the pistons too, but not so much, but also Combustionchamber work on.

Edit:
But not all Kits from Novitec.....sone of the Kits yes, some other Kits have only skimmed pistons(than more 2mm).....very strange.

When you like, i search a pic from my head.

The 16V pistons a goog idea, i see, a lot of people here drive the 16v pistons.
A friend drive a 1242ccm with 16V pistons too, since 2years and it works great.(y)

My old cinq turbo had standard pistons and a de-comp plate.. It was originaly a low boost that had been converted to high boost. Was a very reliable car and coped with some serious over-boosting in its time, incidently it had a Punto GT Intercooler like yours but unlike a normal Van Aaken.
My Sei Turbo is a VA high boost so has the skimmed pistons.. not had it that long but its been ok so far...
