My CD drive doesn't auto-run anymore

Since I restored my computer toit's factory settings my cd/dvd player wont auto run anymore, it's fine with cd's and dvd's but not anything else! i have to click on explore and then find the auto-run icon, I've looked in the properties of the drive but cannot find anything.

It porbably something simple, help please?

IIRC theres a fix available on the M$ site for download

Look in the windows Registry for a key called:

NoDriveTypeAutoRun:

Think it should be set to 91

Make sure you make a note of its current setting before you change anything.

If you are running XP, go into explorer, right click on the drive letter for your CD/DVD drive and go to properties. In there is a tab for auto play where you can set the application to run for particular file types i.e. media player for music files
