Technical My baby Sei is ill!Can anyone help?

Hi all,

I am in the process of grieving for my seicento!!I was on my way to work on Tuesday last week and it started feeling like it was going to stall even though I had my foot right down on the clutch!!I managed to get it round the corner to work in time but now it isnt working!!It makes a real tapping noise as you go above 2000 revs. Now it will not start, has more smoke coming out the exhaust than a chimney and is only firing on 2 cylinders. Think it is either the head gasket or cylinder trouble but i only had a new headgasket a year and a half ago..So I have someone looking at it for me and i just hope that it is fixable!!Any of you mechanics out there have an idea whats wrong with it?

Could well be the coil pack then.

Try swapping the coil packs over. If the misfire switches to the other cylinders, you've identified the problem.

Eh no, 1 and 4 are connected, as are 2 and 3.

If the miss is between 1 and 2, then its unlikely to be coil pack, although other ignition components could be faulty.

YEs I would say coils, if not would suggest head gasket or new plugs/ht leads/oil change then an Italian tune up!
