Yesterday when i filled up the coupe out of interest H worked out the mpg of my car and on the last tank it did 33.8 miles per gallon  the average MPG the coop gets by the book is 28 but a lot of coop people get around 26 27..

And cos of the chip i thought iw ould be even less..

So how the hell am getting nearly 34 mpg i have no idea

You drive like a granny?! :D

I'm not saying H failed maths at school but that is a little optimistic for a G-Tech'd coupe! But then again it is an economical car if you keep off boost.

That's bloody good, I can only get 30 from a non turbo 20v marea!

I dunno, I enjoy the 5 cylinder roar a bit too much!

My 30mpg is general pootling about, but it gave that at a steady 90-ish over 500 miles yesterday. I could prolly get more at lower speeds, but it was still comfy and within it's limits :)

It's a totally addictive noise :D

I only worked out my coupé economy once not long after I got it and it was 28 from a mix of sensible cruising, town running and back roads.
I'm too scared to work it out now - as I've got to know the car better the confidence to drive harder has increased so I expect the economy will be worse now.

Cheeky git! I did maths at university I'll have you know....
The 33.8 was on a long run from Chester->Hull->Rochdale->Oswestry, all done at nice sensible speeds.
A run to Birmingham and back yesterday got 27.8mpg, which is still pretty good.
