Punto (Mk2/2b) Munkul's thread

Introduction

well, i put a deposit down on a 52 plate Mk2 today, very happy!

its in very nice condition, standard, no signs of crash damage or owt, the only bits were a slight ding in the passenger side rear arch, and slightly kerbed alloys :)

well i think it will be an ongoing project, as long as its reliable enough!

the interior pic is quite rubbish, but the seats still look a little dirty  apparently a common problem....

i get to pick it up on saturday the 5th jan, it getting MOTed by dealer, etc

i cant wait
Re: The Official Munkul's Punto Mk2 thread

got the coilovers today, :woot:

jordan, a mate, and i, fitted them tonight.

and boy, even on half settings its low :D:devil: needs lower at the back, though :D

erm... it needs so badly adjusted for camber, its undrivable, good job i took tomorrow off (hehe, today now) gonna leave it to the pro's....

OK, i got sick of being messed about by Gates, who were very unhelpful.

so last night, i spent around 4 hours setting the suspension myself, with manual tracking devices and digital protractors (a job that would have taken them around 30min with their laser systems)
.40 toe in, -0.8 camber (a compromise between factory and Richie's preferences, thankyou)

and it is far better than it ever was before.

Lesson learnt: NEVER GO BACK TO GATES CARLISLE EVER

oh, and i lowered it a little bit more :p

the front is very low now :D

i want to get mine looow, but then again i want to get a carzone front bumper, and alsooo, i don't wanna get molested by speed bumps :bang: there are ones at college you feel sharply even going over them at 1mph,
was considering a 35mm drop and dealing with the arch gap, or getting an abarth front and going lower,

the decision is getting on my knackers...

hehe.... step forward Kay :D

that peice of ground is great for photos, ive taken all my cars there without any problems lol! maybe stilos are just crap off-roaders :p

i NEED a better camera than my phone :bang:

nah the just have a lower centre of gravity for better on-road handling. Went up tonight and tested with new tyres - no scrapage but lots of snow :D
