Hi.
Anyone got a wiring diagram for a 54 plate new shape Multipla roof aeriel, Mine snapped off and when I tried to remove the snapped bit in the base it knacked up all together so I decided to replace it with a sharks fin type aeriel off ebay (this was so it didnt foul my roofbox when fitted) which said it was compatable with all fiats as an aftermarket refit. I stripped down and removed the old one, opened up the hole to accept the new one and fitted it, on checking (somewhat too late) The new one has 1 double core cable wired to a aeriel plug and a single red wire (No instructions with the unit) the unit I removed from the multipla has two cables wired to a small circuit board which was attached under the base mount in the roof, Where will I connect it to, Ive tried a couple of things but they didnt work I kept getting lost signal when driving not bad when stationary but searches the odd time. Any Ideas Please help

Google is your friend! It appears that later Multi's have a cellular aerial incorporated in the unit (triangular PCB).
New aerial sounds like it incorporates a signal amplifier which will need a switched 12v supply, assuming this is a cellular type - one of the wires will be a switched 12v supply and the other should feed to the ISO connector.
They may both feed from the ISO connector but only one will be 12v!

I've tried a couple of alternative aerials after having the same problem, I found that the Multipla unit isn't too shabby, either that or the aerials I got were carp.
If you've got access to another car, try the new aerial on that and check it works before spending any more time on the Multipla install.

Hi
Thanks for the info, I have installed it now but it doesnt work, Ive done a couple of searches and yes your right it is an amplified aeriel so I need to find a 12v supply in the roof lining any ideas where I could possibly take it from??
Regards
Bill

One of the existing wires supplying the old aerials PCB should be 12v switched, the old aerial was amplified so one of these must be a feed.
If not then you can either trace one of the two old wires down to the ISO connector and loop in a 12v switched feed there, or, use the 12v supply to the lights in the overhead console which is permanently live.

This would need to be fused and I'd also put a multimeter across this as if there's any drain you could end up flattening the battery if left for a period.
