General Multipla radio volume

On our first Multi you could set the radio volume to come on at the loudness you wanted. On our current one (five years old - new design) we can't find a way to do this. It always comes on really quietly and with the silly press and hold button it takes ages to get it up to a reasonable volume. Is there a way to set the volume like there was on the old radio?

I hadf this problem on my 99 plate and my 2001 plate all I was sugesyted was to remove stereo and rattle it around and it hasn't let me down on my 2 hope this helps the other comon fault is radio is load and multi changer is a wisper not found a sulution for that if any one no,s post it please
