The cars starts normally go for about four miles then cuts out it refuses to start for about 5 minutes then restarts it may then go for miles and then do it again or it may just a few yards before it stops

RPM sensor is going open circuit, very common problem on jtd vehicles with mileage above 60k miles.

when he says RPM sensor he means the crank sensor, not the cam sensor (most fiat garages think RPM sensor means cam sensor so be careful)

Had the same problem with my 110 jtd multipla. Crank sensor changed by local garage (Parkers of Tredegar- superb) job done all in £70- hsan't missed a beat since ,mpg around 40 according to the readout.
