Hi all
Due to a new business venture, Im probably going to sell my beloved multi to raise some cash.......and downgrade to an old banger for a while!!
Prices in parkers / what car / ads vary wildly.
Any suggestions on what she's reasonably worth?

Shes is:

The top spec '04 JTD 115 ELX in Metallic Silver.
Its the model with the fridge/chiller/warmer in between the two front seats.
108,000 miles on clock (last 30,000 of which were motorway miles) with good service history (cambelt done at 90,00 if I remember rightly)
All the usual multi probs been sorted......ie:
Complete new anti roll bar.
New drop links.
New lower aux crank pulley and belt tensioner.
EGR valve cleaned........pulls and drives really well!
Mot is up in 2 weeks, but i'll have that done before it gets advertised. (fingers crossed (y)as it flew last years)

What do you guys reckon?

cheers

martin

I'd take a look at what people are asking for a similar vehicle on Autotrader and adjust your price accordingly, i.e. what has been done to the car versus age / mileage.

£3,000 to £3,500 looks about right for an asking price but what someone might pay is another issue in todays economic circumstances.

Thanks for that, I agree with your comment.
I'll have get the Mot done asap and take it from there.

One other thing,

are the front fridge type more rare/sought after.....or less popular?

cheers

I have no idea really, a fridge might be exactly what someone wants in a Multipla, but wouldnt add that much to the overall value unless extremely rare. I cant see it making it less desireable though to be fair...

Most people buy on overall condition, with a good service / maintainance history (receipts etc) to bolster that. A full MoT and 12 months tax helps even if it hurts to do all that just to sell.

I think the fact that very few Multi buyers specified the fridge gives you the answer... But it is a novelty!

Possibly in the UK, the majority of Multis with fridges were the ones used by a certain private hire company.

There used to be a company in Didcot Oxfordshire ran a fleet of Multis a few years back then went back to Mercedes, it could be them

interested to know who the certain private hire co may be?

Can't remember their name, but saw a few of them knocking about in London, so it may well have been the Didcot company that kangocartman spoke of.

There was also an article about them somewhere, and one of their 'attractions' was the fridge with cold drinks in it for the customers.

There've been a few of the ex private hire ones sold through dealers - I did have a debate with my wife about going to see one of them a dealer had in Southampton about three years ago, but it was rather a high mileage....

I found Parkers a bit on the High side, what car seems to be more realistic so I've priced it to suit and put in the classifieds!
