Hi Everyone, New here having trouble with poor timing marks for Punto 2003 Active. Changed head gasket and all related parts. Set No 1 piston on TDC before replacing the head.
Crankshaft timing mark non existent, pure guess work.
Haynes manual is useless. Although positive No 1 was at TDC, the timing is out. Can pulley marks are fine. Crankshaft marks are rubbish.
Anyone with sound advice

Hi,

There may be a hole in top of bell housing , possibly with a rubber plug in it . Remove plug look for tdc timing mark on flywheel.
Makes life a lot easier.

If not remove spark plugs and use a wooden dowel through plug hole find highest point of number one piston.

Good luck

Jack
