MPG ?

ive got a 1.6 , ive bin reading and people have been claiming big mpg , but i struggle to get 300 miles to full tank (aprox 40 liters) , and thats normal driving . driving eratically and i can do 18 miles to 4litres.

sound about right or am i having problems.

what can cause low mpg , somneone said a bad exhaust can , if its got a hole in or something or driving with windows open.

any help appreciated

A full service with an ecu reset and drive like a grandad for couple of days/weeks (long runs).. should see a vast improvment.... i have 1.8 and do 6 miles a day stop and start the fuel just disappears... did a 220mile run on motorway last weekend less than half tank...was driving 60mph all way....lol

If heaven is a place on earth why is it such a hell of a place to live.
Oh and dont pee on hot coals it smells.....so i have heard!

I have a 1.6 Sx, it costs £50 to fill the tank but i get a good 440 miles out of the tank, with petrol prices increasing it is a killer at the min, this time last year it cost me 40 quid for the same amount of miles!!

I do all motorway driving though
