hi, how many miles to do you guys get out of a tank? i have a 1.6sx bravo w-reg not the slowest driver but i only get about 230 miles out of a tank, is this about rite?

I think there is something wrong somewhere mate.

I have got a HGT and i'm on 270 miles now with a 1/4 tank still left.

As for my driving style, in city, villages I try to stay to the spped limit the best I can but do boot it getting there.

On country road I tend to really open it up. I blame the 5cyl.

Does it feel sluggish when driving or sound strange when you first start it up?? Could be a sensor going.

Easiest way is to get a diognostic done on it. Will take 5-10 minutes and about £30. Be much cheaper in the long run than the petrol that you are burning away.

On the drive to Mudkart and back i averaged 25.2, cruising at 80(ish) most of the way. I got 190 miles out of 3/4s of a tank...dont buy a 1.4!!!!!

i get 550-575 miles from full down to red light.

I've just averaged 35.2 mpg which contained 20.5 mls city driving then 153 mls motorway and country roads.
Mine is a 1996P 1.6SX Brava.

I too reckon you need a diagnostic as your mpg does seem low, even for a 1.4.
On a run such as that you should get 35.
According to Fiat Brochure; 1.4SX Urban 24.8 Extra Urban 46.3 Combined 35.3 mpg.
The 1.4S figures exactly the same.

Figures are from a sales brochure but it seems accurate for Combined figures.

i just got 253miles out of 38liters of petrol on my 1997 1.6 so thats around 30mpg not to bad considering that the thing is puting out 125bhp

another thing about the 1.6sx compaired to the 1.8 hlx hgt and jtd is that the 1.6sx has a silly small 50l tank where as the others have a 60l tank which gives them a bit more range

the most i can ever get in to my car at the pump is 43liters as im not brave enough to drive it in the reserve

I got 49.0 litres into my 1.8 once. that was about 50 miles into the reserve, and i had done 389 miles!!!
normally if i puch my luck, i can get 350 miles on a full tank. however, i am pretty sure i have a 50L tank, not 60. theres no way i was driving for 2 hours with the light on and still had 10 litres, as the needle was actually steady below the empty mark when i pulled into tyhe Shell station!
