Good MPG (y) but it might have something to do with the fuel. I am sure I have seen on previous threads about folk getting better mileage abroad and paying less for it in the first place:bang:

Hi Donald, Even as I type a disgruntled wife and daughter are being recovered
from Lakeside with IDC symptoms though the Green Flag man says dirt on the MAP sensor. However I have just completed annual 2 week holiday towing caravan from Kent to Chester accross to Leek , toured the peaks solo and then home via Warwick.1376 miles in all 27.8MPG and I think that is very very good. Now if I can only get the damn thing to run right.......

Regards Andy

Bit weird to quote myself ...but when they got home car was perfect and the recovery said that all fiats like this have this problem because of where the map sensor is located, under the scuttle, where they get wet and the electrical contacts get dirty AND GIVE SYMPTOMS OF UNEVEN IDLE ROUGH RUNNING etc..is this the answer to all the queries about ICV`s ???

never cleaned mine. Replacing valve did the job for me. The local-ish dealer even replaced the map sensor but still have same problem after a few days.

I thought I would post some figures here after a 2210 mile round trip to Poland.

Overall consumption was 35.40 MPG even with Anti-Pollution messages and engine going into recovery mode every now and then. Best interim figure was 38.89 MPG this was non motorway driving but did have a lot of country lane overtaking. even if I take this section out it still returned 34.27 MPG which does not seem too bad compared to other cars I have owned and it was mainly fast motorway driving . This was with the roof bars on though I don't know whether this makes any real difference though I am sure I have seen references somewhere on this forum that mentions it could add 10% to the consumption. Maybe this is with something on the roof bars.
