I have a problem with my new shape 07 Scudo wipers (manual control type) the problem is they won’t stay on! I get them to swipe for between 10 – 30 seconds and sometimes they will stay on for longer when the vehicle is in motion. I have to keep switching the wiper control stalk to a different position to keep them going and when they stop the blades don’t stop in the parked position they are usually in the middle of windscreen obstructing my view ahead. One other symptom is the washers don’t operate either when the wipers stop moving. Any ideas?

There is a relay (timer relay) associated with the intermittent wiper operation and the screen wash pump.
You need a new relay.

Have included the exploded diagram of the wiper assembly, sorry can’t find a relay only a sending unit which I don’t think is fitted on my model because they wipers don’t activate automatically when it starts raining.
