hi all , i need some advice , i use my ulysse for general driving around but i also tow a caravan when i get the chance of a weekend away with the family , its a 6 berth weighing 1450 kgs loaded up and the ulysse struggles with it , do you think having the it chipped or remapped would give me the extra power i need to tow comfortably or should i get rid and get something else like a sedona or voyager , i need 6 seats so limited choice
i live in notts so any local recommendations would be great also cost to consider
please dont recommend getting rid of the caravan
thanks for your help

i wouldn't of thought remapping would give you the extra low down torque you need to tow re-mapping will tend to give you better top end which isn't needed for towing, you haven't said if your car is petrol or diesel, you would be best off with a diesel whichever.

if you want to go the newer car route i would stay away from the voyager bad reliability and very costly when they do go wrong although it's slightly nicer than a kia sedona the sedona all around would be a better buy, just stay clear of the V6 petrol version it is the rover KV6 engine out of the rover 825 and land rover freelander just ask any of there owners how many miles they get to a head gasket lol!! 25-35k is the average but the diesels are fairly good with reasonable fuel consumption.
best bet would be the Sedona 2.9 CRDi good, solid and reliable and plenty of low down torque for your towing requirements.

need to know anything else just PM me ;)
