Just an update really, I have just ordered two TOYO PROXES T1-R (the new tyre with reinforced wall) from mytires, a snip at £71 in my 17" flavour, many thanks to Dave for that top site, Kwik fit wanted £120 :bang:
Also, Just got the car back after a suspension refurb, eibach springs and new Wishbones. God dang it feels like a different car! I don't believe the difference it has made, it feels like a go kart, as opposed to the wallowy piece of feaces it was before. I just didn't know what a sorted coop felt like until now I guess.
Right, out for a thrash now, let's see how well she corners. The current tyres look like slicks so I'll probably be posting up some crash pics in an hour or so
I reckon the Toyos will be bald in 6000 miles...
I had suspension refurbed shortly before my car went off the road. It was a bit better, but mine must have been not too worn before.
Who you going to get to fit tyres? And how much will it cost?
H
6000 miles? I'll be lucky The last set have lasted 4000. Was just driving around and a crunching noise could be heard from the front left wheel. I pulled over and checked the bolts and they were hand tight loose This has happened before using this garage (they denied it) so I will be over there tommorow to have a word. No doubt it's the cars fault again
Oh to answer your question H, Andy's tyres charge £5 a corner to fit tyres. I may get them tracked as well which is another £20.
Ah what the heck, it's a money based thread, let's run through my expenditure in this coupe month:
Wishbones - £100
Fit wishbones - £160
New bolts - £20
2 new tyres - £142
Tracking - £20
Fit tyres - £10
So not too bad this month at just over £400 quid. Did I just say that
