General more money

No because Rich is a man....;)

You're supposed to GET rich then buy a fast car. Not the other way around ;)

You never expected the coop to be a cheap car to run, surely. However, you do seem to have had a bit of bad luck with it recently.

Still, bet it is fun when it is flying (y)

Coupe = fricking money pit.

This week: (Just one week there are 52 similar to this every year  )

Left and Right front wishbones - £97
Oil - £30
Oil filter - £10
Oil change - £20
Stereo looked at by competent person - £20
Garage to check cause of flat battery - £15
Mechanic to look at cause of boost leak - £20 (and still not found)
Fuel - £50

So... That's £262, in one week, excluding Tax :(

Next week's forecast:

Two front Tyres (Toyo Proxes @ £100 corner) = £200
Investigate blowing exhaust = ? £20+
Fit lowering springs, new wishbones - £80

=£300

Is it worth it? Sometimes you wonder....

Yes, it is!

Are you sure you want to lower yours? The ride is quite firm as it is, and you'll only increase your rate of wear on the wishbones. You should have done the oil and filter change yourself, and saved £20. As you don't have a strut brace ;) , I'd offer to lend you my Milltek exhaust, so you can just decide to get one for yourself, rather than bother fixing yours. However, i now have to try and fix mine, so I can see the great coupe-eating video! :D Shame I am away next week though

My car hasn't been started since September last year, and since then I've spent:
Manifold - £270
Oil cooler and pipes - £220
Brakes all round - £100
Brake pipes - £60
Handbrake cables - £15

That's just the stuff I can remember! (Prices are approximate, based upon vague recollection)

Sammi's brakes were bled because the brake fluid was changed.

True, i had DOT 4 in there and decided to go for DOT 5.1

I had a set of discs and pads all round fitted, sorted out one of the caplipers, and alsothe rear n/s bearing replaced. I supplied all the parts and it was 5 hours labour costing me £180

The guys at paxton are very nice and i will be using them again, knew loads about the coupe and was in very safe hands :)

I really need two front tyres @£106 per corner... hmmph :(

Look at this pic, it says "lower me matt" (and resize me ;) ) i just have matt :D

I know the ride quality will suffer, but have had lots of fast vauxhall's in the past that made your teeth chatter on the slightest imperfection of road (y) So the coop won't be that bad.
I'm back in love with the Coupe again today, so yes ITS ALL WORTH IT! ten times over :worship:

You guys are paying way too much money for tyres.

Checkout the link posted by Dave above for mytyres.

Last time I looked on there Toyo Proxes in the 225 size were just over £50 delivered - strangely cheaper than for the 205 size.

Even Goodyears are cheaper than your quotes.

You should only be paying £5 or £10 on top of that to get the tyres fitted at an independent tyre place

I agree about Mytyre prices - I recently replaced all 4 on the Stilo - my local independent dealership was quoting £110 per tyre, for Bridgestone Potenza 205/55/16s - I managed to get them for just around £80 per tyre, from same dealership, just by asking and being cheeky.

Mytres price was £70, so the £10 per corner overpaid was worth it in my opinion - I would have had to pay for fitting anyway.

Why not see if local place can do a deal on 2 or 4 tyres? You are the customer, walk away if needed.

Good idea.

When I took my 2 Goodyears in to get fitted to the coupe the tyre place asked where I'd got them from & what I paid, then told me they'd price match.
Just as well really coz when the car was in the air I noticed the rears were shot too - just not on the outside edge - so got them to fit 2 more there.

My poor credit card took ANOTHER beating at the hands of the mighty coupe :(

The way my coop chews front Tyres I should ask about buying wholesale 10+ at a time  These latest tyres have lasted 4 months and are now starting to look pretty bald. I would say 30% of the time my coupe is wheelspinning due to too much power/crap weather.

Those prices were from mytyres.
Many coop 20VTs were fitted with 205/50R16 tyres, but sammi's has the later 225/45R16.
Matt, why is your car on stilts in that picture? :D
