I posted a while back enquiring about how to wire in the 100w factory sub to a 1.2 8V without the rear wiring loom. I never got round to fitting it, but the other day I managed to track down the fixing kit.

The sub is now in the back, with all wires ready to attach - but I'm a bit stuck with 2 parts - the first is the white 8 pin block behind the head unit. I've found it, but does anybody know what one is the fifth pin? The one I thought it was doesn't connect to anything, so I was ready to crimp onto the other red and black cable - however, the instructions mention a grey wire which threw me a bit. Attached are the instructions and picture of the block I believe it is!

The second problem is a 32 pin connector that apparently exists. The instructions aren't very clear, so I can't work out where it is. I have a spare 8 pin connector hanging next to the driver footwell, but I don't know if I can use it as an alternative. Does anybody know if this 32 pin connector exists in a 1.2 8V without the 'advanced setup sound wiring loom'?

I've now sorted out the 8 pin block, I found the diagram on my old standard radio/cassette. I'm still hunting for the 32 pin connector though, so if anybody has any suggestions (it is only for 1 red cable, presumably power; so maybe there is somewhere else I can get the correct power supply from?!) Thanks.

Ok, that's helpful. Someone suggested to me to put a small spade connector onto the end of the power cable, and slot it in with one of the legs of the fuse (depending on what leg is the power one). Is this safe, or does anybody know if this will work? I'm not great with cars, so didn't want to damage anything! Thanks for the reply.

hmmm well in thoery that would work but dont think i would wnat to do it. there must be a connector for the wire or sumthing inthere.

worth having alook to see if there is some sort of connector.

failing that if thats last thing to do. maybe you could go to car audio place if any near you for one wire you maybe able to get somthing done for £5

i got that sub in mine i like it :) its not the most powerfull obviously due to small size but its neat compact and does make a difference to sound.
