as some might be aware im putting a used 1.2 8v in my punto the cam sensor one

before i put it back in apart from a 866 is there anythink i can do to get a wee bit more poke out of it nothing stupid like turbo caus its complicated
and too much money

and could somone explain to me if a 1.28v can be remapped or not

lastly the 1.2 8v in a punto 75 is a f.i.r.e engine aswell obvs is there any thing apart from the camshaft i could salvage off that engine and stick it on the new engine im popping into my car without and faults or problems lol

i read somthing online about using the bottom end of the 75 cant use the head tho because my engine is mpi and the 75 is spi any information would be really helpfull guys you dont ask you dont know cheers pete

The P75 is MPI. If you're looking at a non MPI P75, it's certainly, absolutely, definitively not a P75!

If it has 4 injectors it is -- by definition -- MPI.

Pointless using the P75 bottom end. It's no better than what you have.

The head you may be able to use by fitting the Mk2 cam cover to retain the cam sensor. Use the Mk2 inlet mani.

The P75 exhaust mani is good. Get it all, get the cat too, if you can.

1.2 16v (or 1.4 16v) makes for a far better swap but starts getting expensive.

You can only remap the Mk2 1242 8v. It cannot be chipped. But the late 1108 (Seicento) ECU or the 1.2 16v ECU (early) are better ECUs.

i have seen something on another forum about using a 16v bottom end on a 8v engine might be worth looking at

P75 and mk2 MPI are the same block as far as I know both have squirters for pistons

Cam shaft and exhaust are only major difference imo

Using 16v bottom end will loose you power as the pistons are dished lowering compression ratio

so do i need to change the current ecu in the car then get it remapped ?

and just need to hoke around and find a p75 manifold and exhaust
have the remap done after all that is fitted
and the other parts like the 866 cam and my cda airbox?

I still can't find anywhere good to have my 1.2 8v remapped in the Yorkshire region lol everyone says only 2bup gain with any mods which is just stupid for that money lol

i am from ireland lol and am i just best finding a punto 75 getting the cam, manifold and full exhaust system and cda airbox

fit that to the newer engine im fitting and get the new gearbox and clutch fitted

new sparks better ht leads clean the bay and paint the rocker lol

caus that seems to be my best option correct me if im wrong

See if Peter of GSR (performance FIAT) knows anyone in Yorkshire.

Cheers buddy will do mate :)

if u want most from the engine, have the flywheel lightened and balanced, port and polish the inlet and exhaust ports on the head, get a john ashleys 4-2-1 de-cat manifold, skim the head to raise compression ratio, get an enlarged 40mm GSR throttle body, if you are skilled make your own tubular inlet for free flowing air, straight through exhaust with de-restricted backbox, P75 camshaft

then have it remapped

ok the things that i know i would want caus the other stuff sounds to exspensive and too much effort would be

the lightened flywheel how much for one of these and what are the advantages and disadvantages

40mm GSR throttle body if im making the diameter of the throttle body bigger am i still able to fit a cda airbox been told its better

short shifters ? for 5speed gearbox

THERE IS NOTHING ON THE NET ABOUT REMAPPING A 1.28V ECU DO I NEED TO CHANGE IT OR FIT A PIGGY BACK

just being doing research and found this

easiest way is to put a mk1 75 ecu in the mk2 that should give a couple of horses did on my mk2 anyway and i also turned the fuel regulator right open which make a difference

would adding the 75 cam help this along ?

You're looking in the wrong place. try performance FIAT.

Did GSR ever make a 40mm TB for the Mk2? Are you sure you have a Mk2, etc.

There are no real disadvantages to a properly lightened flywheel except -- possibly -- for a slightly lumpier idle. It's not about power, but about pick-up. A badly lightened flywheel can disintegrate and do a lot of damage. Member Brooky does them.

Short shifter? DIY.

Lightening and balancing the flywheel is fine as long as done properly will cost around £30-£50 to have your flywheel lightened

Yes GSR made an enlarged throttle bodies for MPI it just looks like the bravo 40mm throttle but with a full mk2 housing so you can bolt the ecu to the rear I just bought one of here il upload pics when im not on my phone or take a look at the latest page in me members motor thread, the housing is still sane size so can fit you induction kit

Port polish head can get done for 50 or just do it your self isnt hard.....and head skimming gets done round here for 20

John Ashley manifold will set u back 180 that's only expensive thing mate

A remap alone will cost you around 300 bud
