Hello All,
well bought myself a 999cc mk 2, it was in storage for quite a spell having only 77,000 on the odometer. I knew that it will take a lot of elbow grease to get this child to shine but I hope it will be worth the effort.
list of major problems;
1. CV joints - got new ones for 20 USD
2. the engine had been overheating a lot.
3. the bracket mounting for the alternator needs work
4.radiator is all cracked and leaking
and not to forget the body repair.
will keep you guys updated and much appriciate for comments and suggestions,
cheers

MOAR PIKCHURES!

:D

Is it a left hand drive Uno, which would explain why the alternator is "on the wrong side"? (its different to my one anyway)

How much did you pay, if you don't mind? :D

Hopefully a new rad won't be too much and shouldn't be difficult to fit.

But alas as Ucof has wisely suggested

About the pictures.... We need

yup, it is a left hand drive, also since down here the aircon is a must, the importer had made some mods to the unit. The the aircon is a rotor type and is now attached to where the alternator should have been.
We found cracks on the radiator and will do some replacements on them, promise to send picture of the result.
The car cost me about 600 usd, and so far my spend-o-meter got to 200 USD.
attached is the engine block during repair and after. :)

the bolts are from the engine, one broke off back in the past, and the previous owner had just put the thing back and glued it to the block!
you can also see the poor work on the bracket for the alternator which I am having one be fabricated as i typed.. :D

Very nice :)

You in the US then?

I doubt it - Fiat never sold the Uno over there!

My guess is that fiatkenstein is in Eastern Europe and is using the US currency to show us how much he is spending? :chin:

Clean looking Uno though, and interesting to see the alternator relocated so that A/C can be fitted. As for the broken bolt 'glued' back on  At least it looks like the car is in good hands now and will be repaired properly (y)

got parked for a long time before someone decided to use it like an army mule. :eek:coming up old-new radiator.
