Ok, new thread as the last one was really to id a missing part... So the power steering light is on and steering heavy...Checked all the fuses, so had kwik fit check the battery...40% so hooked my focus diesel battery, which i know to be decent, starts like a rocket but still the steering light is on??
So i am off to get the battery checked in the morning just to be absolutley certain, and hopefully they will let me know about the alternator..
Assuming they are both ok i am guessing the ecu/column is the most probable cause.. So whats best, get a fault diagnostic cable off ebay. Or just go for the column off ebay and change it out.
£60 should get the column with ecu and motor
£20 for cable diagnostics and then possible column..
If the column is going to go, can i just change it for the same size / fit as you would do a gear box or cv joint..or do i have to get it re programed etc..
