Technical mk2 head 16v conversion thermostat solution

Hi guys and girls

so atleast a couple of us I know of are after a solution to the issue that is the mk2 16v head having no hole for the dash gauge temperature sensor... im under the understanding that the 1.4 tjet thermostat housing is the answer however this has been tried and tested and proves to be the wrong one for the cento sensor


I have this picture I believe from andyscinq of the correct setup.. believed to have come from @kritic

ive searched high and low to find this exact thermostat housing as yet to no avail only managed to find this

I do not have a straight answer to your question, but two thoughts:

The thing to know about the t-jet theromstat is that it opens at a lower temp. This might be good or might be bad. Also it is not any problem, because the core is easily swappable.

Then, why not use a three pole temperature sensor of Palio Weekend? It provides signals both for the ECU and the dash. Do not have a link, and I know from my own experience that getting the right plug for the loom is a PITA, but it works a treat, this is what I have. Not sure about the characteristics of the sensor though, not sure how they differ between 8V and 16V. But this is something I can look up for you in the ECU code, I have both sensor's calibrations written down somewhere. The plug for this looks like this:
