Just replaced a clutch on a Mk2 Uno Start (999cc)

The old unit had failed and the release bearing had eaten the clutch release springs on the pressure plate assembly.

After replacing the clutch assembly, the pedal is still slack. It has been bled, and the fluid level is good. But it is still slack. I am suspect of the slave cylinder;

1. When depressing the clutch pedal, there is little or no resistance, and the pedal feels floppy all the way to the floor (As though you're trying to push a spoon through rice pudding)

2. The ram on the slave cylinder that actuactes the clutch release arm, when extended (In the out position) you can move it side to side, as though it is broken from the piston of the clylinder.

I am guessing that this is not normal, and suspect that it requires replacing.

My question is;
Does the clutch slave cylinder from the Mk1 punto fit the Uno. The part looks the same, but is it the same part?

Many thanks.

Also, is there a way of testing the cylinders, to see if tehy are operating effectivly?
