Technical mk2/b dash/instrument pinout

Hello dear forum members!

I'm looking for the connector pinouts for the Punto mk2/b. Does it differ from mk2 dash pinout?

Also.. what is the normal behavior of the mk2/b dash?
If turned off, does it display time or anything like the mk2 does?
If key is turned on, but car not running, should the display turn on?

Mk2 - clock used to stay on
Igntion on (engine off) IIRC you can scroll too)

Mk2b - clocks go to sleep
When i open mine - the clocks wake up
With ignition on (engine off) the dash is alive, i can scroll through the info availible

I have a mk2, but got a mk2b cluster in my hands, same connector, but if i connect and ignition on, the lcd is dark. I know it won't work in mk2, but thought it would turn on or something. I know partial pinouts for mk2 dash, but maybe mk2b differs?

Also when you crank the engine the tachometer registers the revs even when the engine is not started.

Presumably all the different dials are requiring a different can bus signal?

mk2b dashboard will not work in mk2 due different board computer. If you want to get it working, you have to change ecu, board computer and ignition key. I had made my mk2 to fully mk2b punto:

Sorry to drag up an old thread :/

My cluster died some time ago so I purchased some mk2b dials thinking they should be ok lol. Obviously they didn't work in my mk2a lol.

Do you just change the ecu, fuse box and ignition key? they will work if I buy them from a newer car of the same engine? just plug and play?
