Mk2 16v to mk1 16v inlet conversion
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some advise, I have a 2003 1.2 8v pre facelift punto Mia and I'm wanting to convert it to 16v, I've already bought an engine with the engine loom and all ancillaries and I've already got the 16v ecu, fuse box and key set, I know the 16v inlets use the electronic flyby system and I'm wanting to use the mk1 cable system, I've found a decent second hand inlet and throttle body but I'm not entirely sure how to go about the conversion, I've read that if using the mk1 inlet then you need to run a seperate stand alone ecu linked to the inlet and engine ecu but I'm just wondering how true this is, or what the best way is to get the mk1 inlet to work correctly with the mk2 engine thanks, any and all advise welcome asking as your not trying to tell me to just buy a new car thanks
