Technical mk1 timing belt tensioner

my timing belt tensioner started squeeking (my wife said it sounds like it wants to sing) and i want to replace it. is it just straight forward to replace it, or do i need to do something special before? (oiling / greasing it?)

as far as i remember its just a straight replacement, and consider changing the cambelt too depending on its mileage, only difficulty i had was tensioning the tensioner, it has 2 holes in it and would benefit from a tool made to fit i would imagine
