Styling mk1 punto foot pedals

Hi there,
I just bought some competion pedals that are universal but after taking the rubber covers off my standard pedals i noticed there werent any holes to which i can screw them onto lol as im a complete novice what would i have to do?
is there a good strong glue? or can i use a normal drill with normal drill bits to make the holes?

normally you would just drill the holes with a normal drill and bit
