Just a quick question.
When payday comes around again I'm thinking of investing in a 2nd hand set of alloy's for my mk1(its that kind of British racing green colour)I'll be looking to get black/graphite and dont really mind getting a set recon'ed but need to know if anyone can recomend
  • a good powder coaters in the NE (I'm in Gateshead)
  • what sort of price is resonable to expect to pay to recon/powdercoat alloy's
  • and most important of all what size wheels will I need
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to mod'ing but have fancied a project for a while and now I'm in a possition to be able to afford the work and put the time in.

Cheers in advance

There's an excellent place in Shiremoor called Beta Blast. Their work is superb.

Price is around £200-220 iirc.

If it were me I'd stick with standard GT/Sporting wheels.

Its running on steelies atm with some very naff looking fiat plastic trims on that have seen better days.

I'm kinda scared to take the trims off in case I find another job to add to the list.

Its going in for a new set of cam seals and belt on thursday aswell so thats costing me £100. I know a mechanic whose going to do it for me "off the books" so thats saving me £100 on the quoted price
