The gist of the conversation was that by removing the green filter and fitting red silicone caps over the bulbs in the top of the cluster, you achieve a nice effect (well I think so anyway) - OR you can use LEDs but I don't believe they will flood the dials with a wide enough beam of light.

However, M@nticore says that his LEDs are working fine, so that's good. :) But he didn't manage to take a photo, and I did, so you can make up your own mind ;)

Not sure how to cope with the digital displays - they may have a green filter incorporated into the LCD. You could start by removing the bulbs and trying some with red filters. You might find that red LEDs are brighter for this application (red LEDs put out only red light, which might be stronger than the red light put out by a red-capped bulb, and might get through the green filter slightly better). Perhaps try taking the LCD cluster apart and see if the green filter is removable?
