My doors won't lock:eek:

The stop light and door open light on dash stays on.
The internal lights switch on/off when each door opens/closes ok.

Cleaned all contacts on door and pillar, But have'nt found out how the car knows the back door is closed right. Can anyone teel me where is the contacts for back door:confused:

Plus I noticed on back pillar on near side rear passenger opening (hidden by sliding door)there is a large black square cover with a catch/switch? near the rear edge what does this do? There is'nt one on the other side (off side).

Cheers.

Donald.

we had the door locking problem with ours as well almost always the sliding doors ,if you open one sliding door you can push your finger on the micro switch its in the latch on the body of the car try locking the car if it locks take your finger of the switch the locks will pop up that tells you the switch is working we had to adjust the latch up and down a little to catch the micro switch .hope this helps(y)

Thanks guys.

This micro swith you are on about is it the small plunger amunst the flat round contacts See fig 1:rolleyes: as when I push it in, the internal lights go out but the car won't lock, all doors locks drop but straight away rise again:bang:

I would apprieate-appriciate-apreaceight. (SOD IT) I would love it! if you can you can find out and let me know. I have taken the cover off the back door and could see no sign of a switch. although there was some kind of sensor bolted to the back door:- fuel cut off if rear ended?

As for the other photo it is the black cover I was on about which is only on the near side, rear pillar.

Neighbours will think I must be nuts taking photo's this time of night!!

the round discs are not to do with the locking if you look at the latch on the door it locks into what you could call a loop on the body well looks like a straght pin inside the pin you can feel a very small micro switch thats what your after .i will try and add a few pics if you were a little closer i could have given you a hand to fix it(y)

ok hopfully her is a picture inside this keeper is a very small micro switch and what happens is you shut the door it throws a latch which pushes in the switch and lets your locking work .if you want to email me for any more help [email protected] and i will try my best after all we ulysse owners have to look after each other(y)

lanciak69 you have been a busy boy! thanks for the photo. I have noticed that the black plastic cover around the latch is cracked on both sides on mine. Also Edinburghs not that far away only around three and a half hours drive:rolleyes:

Just 20 minutes ago took out the back seats as wife is doing a boot sale tomorrow and I thought I would have another look at each door.

Starting at the front passenger door tried remote---- lock>unlock:eek:
tried key in the lock ---- lock>unlock:(
tried rear door passenger side internal ---- nothing happened
tried to find door switch on tailgate no sign of it:shakehead
tried rear door on drivers side internal ---- nothing happened:cry:
LASTLY
tried drivers door key in lock ---- lock>unlock

Then turned key as if to unlock and tried again to lock then the key would spin around freely:confused: turn key anticlockwise again then clockwise and the doors LOCKED :woot: took key out and tried remote and it works:D :D :D

So still confused why this is but atleast it works for now, and this is just after printing a dozen sheets from the cd manual on the central locking system, which I forgot I had untill T14086 asked me if I had any manuals:bang: and T14086 I see what you mean about being a big manual:eek: 152 pages on some electrical systems alone!

You were right it was the microswitch on the back pillar of the sliding door:)

Doors stayed locked all night, but today started to play up again:bang:

I thought about you suggestion, and checked it out and the locking worked when sticking finger in (oh er!) so loosen the two screws and the fitting dropped a liitle so retightened and tried with the door shut and it now works a treat(y)

Thanks again guys
