Hi guy's,
About 5 weeks ago, my 2004 Mk.2 Sporting developed a creak from the offside rear. It has got steadily worse since then.
My car has now visited my local garage (non Fiat) 5 times and they still cannot find where it's coming from. They tell me they have now ruled out the exhaust and the rear suspension. I have looked at the exhaust myself and there does look to be a little more movement than there should be but when you shake it around it does not re-create the same noise you here when inside and on the move.
The garage have taken apart the rear passenger side suspension and re-greased the necessary bits and put back together, but to no avail.
They originally thought it was the heat sheild on the exhaust, but I'm now told that this is not the culprit.
Don't suppose you guys have any ideas ?
Is there any common culprits for this type of noise from the rear ?
Would really appreciate your input as it's now driving me mad and costing me a fortune every time it goes back to the garage.
