hi ppl, suddenly got his problem within the last couple days, about 45-50mph in 5th or 6th gear if i floor it and the power kicks in theres a bad vibration from the passenger side!! im 90% sure its coming from the gearbox , i got a feeling my flywheel could be knackerd,i know my car has a silly dual mass one. Anyone had this problem before ?? once the revs pick up and go threw the vibration it clears and its fine much higher up the revs.

i dont have this problem, take it to your dealer, dont tell them you got 205bhp under the hood(y)

Might be gearbox but i would go for the driveshaft side of things:confused:

Under warranty whatever.

lol yes def wont b telling them that, i hardly ever use the car so it doesnt get driven hard, my gf uses it to go awork, she changes gear before the turbo even kicks in lol :D. I hoping its the dual mass flywheel, if so then i should get a new clutch out of it as well :O)

My bad vibrations that I originally thought were engine related have now been mooted as driveshaft problems. I spoke to a specialist today who informed me that due to the 150 MJ power output, driveshaft wear occurs - something to do with runners and couplings which is why I only notice it at about 3k RPM in low gears and why its temperamental. Can anyone explain this please as the mechanic explained it in great detail and with plenty of experience over the phone but I couldnt take any notes at the time and it went a little over my head. Thanks.

Oh, and props to bravo jtdM150 who said it was driveshaft when I originally raised the issue in a separate thread.

I have had this ever since my remap, it's completely normal when you access more torque than the car's gearbox was designed to handle especially on the wrong gear. switch to 3rd gear.

don't take the car to the dealer, this is completely normal and nothing can be done about it.

edit : this can actually be fixed by using a suitable remap that into acount the power curve the car can handle without vibration, but why bother?

Thanks, but mine is completely stock.

My remap made my flywheel judder, the tuning box still doesnt but its adjustable so at the right bhp and ft lb its fine. its for sale by the way as i dont own my bravo anymore.

Andysan: it was a guess lol:D

I think I remember you from other threads where you complain about other problems... are you the unluckiest bravo owner in the world or what?

(touch wood)

Ha-ha perhaps, although I dont just like to book my car in for no good reason. Since November I've had the following go wrong:

Faulty glow plugs - all replaced.
Radiator punctured during glow plug replacement - both rads replaced.
Windscreen cracked at base - replaced.
Car gone into garage to refit plastic trim not put back on during windscreen refit.
Car gone back to windscreen fitters as not fitted properly the first time.
Car gone to garage for a knocking noise - diagnosed that oil is leaking into the clutch so seal replaced.
Car still leaking oil and knocking - going back in next week.

The 22nd of February was a year anniversary of Bravo ownership for me.

To date my expenses have been, EGR valve £115, four new tyres £380, short service £90. These have been my only compulsory spends, every other penny I've spent on it has been through choice, upgrades or mods. The car was displaying 21k when I purchased her, she's dispalying 26k now.

I'd say the above represents pretty cheap motoring..............

The end of March will be my one year.

£150 on MOT and service. £120 on new front tyres.

Gone from 21k to 42k. Can anyone beat that?? :)

To be fair in 8k miles I've only spent £75 on a new screen. Still totally pleased with it and wouldnt trade it for anything else, just been a little unlucky thats all.

Hello may name is Nuno i´m from portugal and i have a t-jet
my car as 50.000km is stock

i have the same problem

I've just heard from the garage after a week that they are replacing the flywheel and a driveshaft bearing. The oil leak is just due to something that they forgot to put back properly when they last had the car. Hopefully I can concetrate on happy trouble-free motoring after this!(y)

My 2.0 Bravo is currently in after knocking noises which turned into something sounding like the car eating itself, turned out to be a drive-shaft.
