Technical mist up windows

hi. can't demist my windows. no mater what i do they r always mist up. sec after i wipe them they mist again.the seals round doors look ok. can never see out of ma back door windows. rear window ok, windscrean and front doors dodgy at best.

my car is a marea sx 100 16v ( y reg )

cheers - didn't even know i had one! is that something you can do yourself or need to go to garage? expensive?

pollen filter is located under bonnet on passenger side lift bonnet look at black panel near wipers u will see panel held on by 2 screws its in there and should cost you less than £10 to replace

agree re pollen filter; also check heater not stuck in recirculation mode and no wet things eg towels, swimming costumes, dogs left in car

deffo the pollen filter you'll be amazed how quick it demists once you've changed it..

With regard to windows mine gets so bad theres quite bad condensation on the inside of all the windows , it litterally runs down the screen specially in this cold weather its a bugger takes 20mins to clear with the a/c-which is killing my petrol too.

I've got the same problem on my 1.2 Mk2 Y reg Brava Formula, no aircon but do you think it would have a pollen filter?

I'll check the manual and Haynes when I get home. Then I'll check the car when it's a bit less wintry...

put new filter in mine on saturday windows all clear ever since where as before all but front screen and front doors were fully misted up

brill i can now c out of ma windows for the first time in ages. new pollen filter £8,replaced in mins. also put heater at 2 or over and at windscreen and feet, also in the red. windscreen only setting never when wet or when colder outside. havent put rapid demister on don't know if that helped. thanks 4r all the help.

I had exactly the same problem, got myself a new pollen filter for around a tenner, cured the problem

Thanks for getting my hopes up... unfortunately I checked my late model Brava expecting to find a blocked pollen filter, but there is nothing under that panel at all.

I think the problem is that the air just can't get OUT of my car, it's just pressurised. Even the incoming ventilation is restricted - if I crack open a window or the sunroof the flow increases dramatically, and I even get a big side draught through a ripped seal on the drivers door.

Maybe a design fault on this particular body style?

I think youl find the Brava is the same as the Marea so there must be a problem somewhere. You could try shining a torch in where the filter should be to see if theres anything been pushed in. Also if the recirculation button is pressed in it wont clear the windows.
