Mirrors and update

Hello again, firstly i asked a question a while back to see where to get custom mounting plates for M3 mirrors on a Bravo which i got no answer for, does anyone know this time round? My mirrors are scuffed up and bubbling which was on the car when i bought it anyway so i thought i may as well get M3's.

Secondly i have booked in with a garage to see if they can get my car running a little smoother than it is now because its lost that edge it used to have.

They are a superchips specialist and i was thinking of putting one on to see if that would make it a bit more driveable. Sod BHP, its not what im after, the engine is too damn small to be trying to squeeze unrealistic power gains from it but i have heard that chips help enormously in giving your engine that "newer" feel to it which is what im after.

To be honest what would be ideal is a new engine just cause i love the feel of it but does anyone have any other suggestions on how to make a car feel almost like new??

Thanks guys!

As for the mirror i think www.fastfiat.com do a set with custom baseplates.

Instead of getting your car chipped, why dont you speak to alfa-nige, he can remap your car for much cheaper than a chip, and you insurance wont go up..sweet!

Thanks, i may do that. :)
The ones from fast fiat arent the ones im looking for i just want run of the mill M3's but cant seem to find the plates for them. Someone must do them because i have definately seen Bravos with them done before and not botched one, proper mounting plates.

AlfaNige, what and how exactly do you remap them? It sounds like a good idea.

Re: Re: Mirrors and update

Sorry to bump this back up to the top but someone must know about where to get the mounting plates as i need them quite soon because i should be having my bodywork done in the next few months and wanted to get it all done together if i can.

Anyone??

Interested in your old Mirrors

I'd be interested in your driver side (o/s) door mirror. The mounting plate is split - 'er indoors reversed into a pillar.

You said that they are bubbling, what did you mean?

Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

To be honest the mirrors themselves are knackered due to gates blowing back on them when reversing out of the drive etc taking massive chips out of them. The bubbling is like if you threw nitro-moors over paintwork (which incidently is what happened to mine although thats not whats caused this) thats what it looks like but in plastic not paintwork. So the mounts are knackered and the mirrors are too. Sorry about that!

Besides it doesnt look like anyone at all on here knows anything about mounting plates for the mirrors despite a few people having M3's anyway so even if they were in good nick it looks like ill be keeping them.

Come on people, please i only have a short time left to find this out. I have looked on every fiat site i know and searched lots and lots of google pages so its not like ive tried. Help Meeeeeeeeeeeeee.

DTS GmBH

If you visit this website, they do a set of M3 mirrors and base plates for Fiat Bravo/Brava. Ask them for a catalog which should cost you around Euro 10.00 and they have them advertised in it.

Re: DTS GmBH

Thanks ill give that a try, im also going to try ESP design aswell as they do mounting plates for a lot of cars.

Re: Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

Steve

The backing plates are alloy, the bubbling is corrosion. They're easy to strip down to just the plate, sand well, prime and spray Satin Black.

P.S. Or any colour you like!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

Cheers Pete, might consider it if im keeping the old mirrors. Then again the mirrors are knackered so there probably wouldnt be much point.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

dierect car parts sell the m3 mirrors and cup mirrors and the ones with indicators in and you pay a little bit extra for universal D.I.Y backing plate, so youll have to cut it to shape, theyre mirrors are good prices too

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

sorry.......dierect car parts being :-

http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/catalog/

i have a set of mercedes mirrors that im gonna put on my bravo, let me know how ya got on if ya do get some m3s, cos i am having the same problem,

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Interested in your old Mirrors

Cheers Matty, i appreciate the help from you guys. When i was looking at ESP website i found they do the same universal ones.
I may ring them up some time this week and ask exactly what you do with them. I dont really fancy any DIY jobs if its going to look messy, that why i wanted to ask some people on here who already have them what they did.

If it all goes well ill let you know how i got on.
