thanks, I need to get on to my dealer agin this week as I've still no reply from them, I've ended up going back to using my bluetooth earpiece(n)

Just had a call from the dealer to say the service bulletin says that if the customer complains of poor audio on the handsfree at over 70kph (yes kph!) then the microphone should be replaced with an alternative one.

I'll keep you posted once I get this done.
 
I have the same problem with mine. Everyone says that they can't hear me no matter what speed I am doing.

I am going to complain to the dealers about this and other problems. The other problems are mainly to do with the dealer and not the car.

First check your settings, then post your other concerns (car/dealer or whatver) in the appropiate sections.
 
Had the new mic fitted over the weekend.

Full marks to J G Burgess in Sittingbourne yet again (y) - Replaced no problem, car washed and even dropped back to me :worship:

Anyway initial results look very promissing. SWMBO said it was much improved, as she hadn't realised I was in the car but rather sounded just like hand-held.

Called the dealer last Tuesday.
Got appointment for Sat morning.
Got there at 8.10 I was on my way at 8.25.
Super fast service and no questions asked.
Was a brilliant service and now the Mic works a treat.
Thanks everybody here for your help without your hint I will be still using my old Bluetooth.

anyone know when this replacement will have been done at the factory? Im expecting my 500 end of Dec/ beginning of Jan and am wondering if they will still be sticking in the pants ones by then. There seems to have been problems for a while so you would think fiat would have stopped fitting the duff ones by now. Unless they are still using up the big box of crap ones theyve got left in the hope people dont notice!
 
Have rung my dealer, they got back to me the following day, said they had ordered new mic, due in 3 weeks (i live in NZ). First time the dealer has been efficient, but i guess i am not dealing with the salesman this time.:)
 
I've had a perfectly good working relationship with my blue and me microphone (apart from her not being able to understand me -everyone could hear me that I called) but this week no-one can hear me unless I put my mouth up to the microphone and shout like that Dom Joly on a train - then they can hear me.

Do you suggest I get a new microphone fitted?

I phoned the garage who said to try someone else's phone first before I call them back - am trying hubbie's phone tonight (diff handset, diff network) to prove that hopefully it's the car microphone not my phone.

:idea: Call them from the car and when they say they can't hear you properly you can say, "that's what I've been telling you"
 
I did that and yes he couldn't hear me (he is italian so hard to understand him but I could understand him saying, "hello, hello, hello" at me) so I rang back on loudspeaker on the phone and he agreed he couldn't hear me at all! Just tried hubbie's phone but it's a crappy LG so won't connect.

I'll phone them tomorrow (from land line) and say to just order the new microphone in and tell me when it arrives - no point in them trying to diagnose it as i've already done it!
 
Heidi, I have mine booked in to have a new mic when they are looking at my clutch noise problem and a couple of other things. I don't think mine is as bad as yours but I still want it checked out in case it has the faulty unit fitted.

Your car is newer than mine so I guess if yours has still been fitted with the older type microphone then mine will also be the same. If you get yours done before 2nd December let me know.

Rang them and they want to take apart all the blue and me to make sure it is the microphone (honestly how many times do I have to tell them that unless i get up close to the damn thing and shout no-one can hear me). Taking car in on 28th Nov - then they've got to diagnose and then tell me what's up with it (durrrr i know that!), then order part. So i'm probably without hands free for, i'd say, about 3-4 weeks now? GRRRRRR! I know what's wrong with it too!
