Hi,

Just join this forum and the info is great :) .

Has anyone experienced a noisy heater after the engine is started, mine does, then once the engine is hot it stops .... then when I break the sound comes back, but not as loud, I think it might be air in the cooling system ... Any ideas on what this could be? :bang:

Hi and welcome to our forum. :)

If you think there is air in the system then you should try to bleed the system. There are bleed screws in the cooling system to help with this. On the 1800 there is one on the coolant manifold on the right hand side of the engine block and another on the left/top of the radiator. If you have air con there will also be one on the right/top of the radiator.

It may be worth taking the opportunity to do a bleed of the system at the same time. If you're interested I'll talk you through it.

Many thanks for the fast reply.

A walk through would be much appreciated, plus I have Air-con.:)
This may also be the reason why the heater gauge is not showing the correct temp.

BTW, I'm an expat living in Switzerland and my Meraa is almost at the 100K Miles, one of the best cars I've bought, especially for the economy.
