Yeah its nothing really.
It all depends on how the car is geared i suppose.
I think that a seicento is a bit faster then a matiz by just a bit.

My sis had a matiz and i was meant to get it as a hand me down. i refused it lol and got a punto.
The matiz was a common joke used on me by my m8s lol.
a positive tho... I think the insurance is soo low on them that the insurance company pays you money to insure it lol.

two different cars. ur better off with the 306...1)people wont laff at u 2)even if its a peugeot is reasonably built 23)looks better the matiz is a shed on wheels. and 4)its a daweoo. the only good point of the matiz is that itl b cheaper to buy but...theres a reason why.
theres a silver matiz by my area and its been shoking because ti has "eye brows"on the front and back lights, tinted windows,alloys and abti lowerd.OH MY GOD why would any1 even bother to do that lol.its horrid!
get a 306 out the two hold better value too.or just have a punto

Quite an old thread. Neither would be my choice but 100% avoid a Matiz, you could alternative by a sardine can and stick some wheels on.

KA's are very fun and would probably have it over the 306 and Matiz
Ka's are very nippy apparently and fun, but its still a ford, although thats better than French anyday!

If you buy a Matiz then i might have to visit you in the small hours and stick a LARGE bat up yer nightie!
The worst car i've ever bought was a little (supposedly reliable) Daihatsu YRV (basically a Toyota Yaris with a different body). It was a 01 51 plate, had 60k miles on it and a full history. I managed to keep it 3 months (mainly due to 2 1/2 months of that it was in and out of the garage - prior to that it took 2 weeks to get used to it!!!!). I paid £2300 for the car, spent £1000 on it and ended up driving to my local dealers and parting with "the shed" as it became known and £150 for a 104k mile X plate Marea Weekend 105JTD and i consider that to be the best £150 i've ever spent on a car!!!
I know that works out at about £3500 for 8 year old car but hell, even needing a few hundred quid spent on it it's still soooooooooooooooooooooo much more of a car than the crappy little Eastern pile of poo!
Don't do it, don't by a cheap, nasty, horrid, abomination of a car!
As for the Pug, not that bad i guess. Far, far, far better in T/D or even better still in HDi guise. I always found they had a very stiff clutch but other than that they drive ok. watch the suspension, steering rack, rear shocks and engine mounts. Otherwise they are, in my opinion, better made than the 307/308 (which have electrics sponsored by FIAT!).
Best of all, by a Brava/Bravo/Punto and enjoy your car!

Bad luck, should have gone for a propper Yaris! They're great. 2001 Y-reg with 87K on the clock and nothing replaced except tyres and wiper blades!
As for the little pile of poo, with only 15000 on the clock it was the best spent £350 anyone could spend, will probably go longer than any new Frech car! How many re-calls have Peugeot done for fire problems with several of their cars!

Speaking about fire problems, i've just helped my sister sort out her insurance claim for her Fiat Ulysis T/D going up in smoke - and they are simply a Pug 806/Citroen Synergie that someone was a little embarrassed about so they pried off the crappy French badges and put a Fiat one on!
Still would say thay, even though they're French, the Pug is a better car that anything made my the same people that can't even build a decent microwave!
Either by proper Jap (Honda/Toyota/Mitsi) for reliability, German/Scandinavian for pure build strength (and enough excessive metal that rust is never a problem) or Italian for style. Unless you really, really, really (and i can't see any normal person being that insane!!) want a Euro-blob designed, unreliable, lump or a mass produced, lego strength, tin foil constructed box with all the image of a Chav in HSamuals - the choice is yours!
The Matiz is the worst car I've ever driven, by quite a long way. (But, then, I've yet to drive a Smart!)
With a £2k budget you can get a pick of JTD Brava/Bravo.
i have driven 5 matiz' and they were all horrible little cars that need burning.
